Nestled in the rolling hills of Piedmont, we are rooted in the rhythms of nature and the strength of community. Surrounded by the beauty of Monferrato — with its vineyards, forests, and hilltop villages — children grow up immersed in the natural world and experiencing the magic of the changing seasons. Life here is slow and intentional. Families gather for village festivals, linger over long lunches, and savor gelato while children play nearby.
In the heart of Montaldo Village, our location radiates warmth and connection. Parents chat over coffee after drop-off, teachers nurture each child with care, and families take an active role in daily life — from seasonal festivals to spontaneous playdates. Inspired by Rudolf Steiner’s vision of purposeful community, we are a place where everyone’s gifts are valued and where shared purpose weaves us together. Here, simplicity, connection, and collaboration create a foundation for children — and their families — to thrive.
Life in Monferrato offers the balance of tranquility and vibrancy. While life here follows a slower, more natural rhythm, there’s always something to discover. Just an hour from Turin, an hour and a half from Milan, and two hours from the Alps, Monferrato combines the charm of rural living with easy access to major cities and mountain adventures. Our community is enriched by deep local partnerships with farmers, artisans, and small businesses. Cascina Krylia provides fresh fruits and vegetables year-round, while local raw milk and farm-fresh cheeses and meats come from familiar faces like Manuela, who runs a small dairy at the bottom of our hill. The connection to the land and local producers means that high-quality, seasonal food is always close at hand. Beyond food, there’s a rich cultural and social life. Yoga studios and world-renowned art foundations and dance schools such as Orsolina28 offer opportunities for movement, expression and remote work. Local businesses like La Fabbrica del Bosco, Crealto Agroturismo, and Montaldo's own, Cascina Iuli — many of them run by families from our community — provide spaces to gather, dine, and experience the local culture.
At VFS, community isn’t something we have—it’s something we build together. Our shared values shape how we communicate, how we care for one another, and how we hold the space in which our children grow. They reflect our deep belief that the emotional and social environment around a child is just as important as the academic one.
These values aren’t rules—they’re invitations. They call us into greater presence, kindness, and responsibility as we co-create a culture rooted in respect, reverence, and connection. Click here to read more about our Core Community Values.
