Our journey started in a single yurt on cofounder Fabrizio Iuli's farm, overlooking the rolling vineyards of Monferrato. Fabrizio, a farmer and winemaker whose family has worked the land for generations, and his wife, Summer Wolff, who has a background in natural wine and organic living, dreamed of a place where their children could grow up immersed in nature and community.
What began as a small gathering of children on the farm has grown into a thriving homeschooling education. Today, the VFS has a new and larger home that reflects the heart of our mission. Our beautiful building was designed with natural building biology principles, creating a healthy and nurturing space for learning. We are surrounded by a meadow overlooking the breathtaking Montaldo valley and bordered by a pristine forest where children gather for outdoor choir, take hikes, and apply lessons through foraging and exploration.

Lucie and Ronan McCullough, who joined the founding effort, brought their global perspective and passion for holistic living to the project's development. After living and working on six continents, they sought to create an environment where children could grow up connected to nature and free from the overstimulation of modern life. Lucie’s background in design and wellness, combined with Ronan’s experience in finance and community building, helped shape the thoughtful, sustainable design of the project and its community-driven spirit.
VFS is a true community. Our teachers are trusted guides, encouraging curiosity and creativity in every child. Our parents are active partners, contributing their time, energy, and expertise to ensure that the experience remains vibrant and responsive to the needs of the children and the broader community.
As we enter our sixth year in September 2025, we are proud of how far we’ve come — and excited for the future. VFS remains a place where children learn through hands-on experiences, guided by curiosity and creativity, supported by a close-knit community of families and educators. We look forward to continuing our mission and building something meaningful for our children and the generations to come.
